Welcome to the Assessment Phase page for the Sustainability Platform Minimum Quality Standards Checklist. At the end of this article, you will find all the tools that will help you successfully complete this stage. Before proceeding, please read the introduction and ensure you have completed the e-learning course for the Sustainability Platform.

The Sustainability Platform Minimum Quality Standards Checklist consists of 3 phases:

  1. Assessment
  2. Design and Planning
  3. Implementation and Monitoring

On this page, you will find the tools and standards required for all SRC international projects to meet the minimum standards during the needs assessment phase before Project design and Planning

N.B You are able to download an editable document of the Checklist at the end of this page, it is recommended that you do this, so you are able to write your planned actions to achieve the minimum standards. Should you require further support with the SP, please contact najwa.kallas@redcross.se.

1. The community approve the assessment and project
Initial orientation meeting with communities is conducted to explain the role of the National Society, and to discuss plans and expectations, including potential positive and negative impacts.

  • The community understand the role and mandate or Red Cross/Crescent
  • The expectations of the communities are managed (i.e. explaining what they project can and cannot do)

Try to discuss with the National Society the benefits of properly introducing themselves to the communities.

6. Identify and analyze environmental aspects
An environmental assessment is made to understand the project’s
environmental impacts and how climate change may impact the project.
The assessment should be completed early enough to inform project design, but only once the emergency phase is over.

conducted for the project. A NEAT+ might be a good course of action.
